Psychedelic Baby Magazine Reviews "Blood Brother" EP
So thankful to the editorial staff at Psychedelic Baby Magazine for the review of this EP and the premiere of Flesh & Back to Bone! Give it a read friends.
Jamos Blood’s upcoming EP, ‘Blood Brother,’ is a blues rock romp that’s gritty, wandering, and fun—perhaps a perfect snapshot of Blood himself. Recorded in 2020 with his late brother Clayton, all four songs find Blood exploring love and loss with his familiar Tom-Waits-Meets-Tom-Petty vibe: tracks that thunder along with blues licks and a train-track rhythm section.
‘Unfold’ weaves themes of hope, connection, and loss with razor-sharp guitars and a vocal roar that betrays a bleeding heart. The two middle tracks, ‘Catfish Blues’ and ‘Last Go Around Blues’ showcase Blood’s ability to deftly combine slow Bayou riffs with his inherent optimism. ‘Flesh and Back to Bone’ is a reflection on what it means to be lost, and what starts as fear becomes a stance turned toward an unknown future—all framed in bluesy optimism.
